Weekly Wrap – Food and Gear

March 5, 2011

  • Cochon 555 – If you are a pork fan, then this will be your Disneyland. Brady Lowe has put together a one-of-a-kind traveling culinary competition that includes, 5 pigs, 5 chefs, and 5 wineries. The event will be held at the Culinary Institute of America in St. Helena this Sunday. CLICK HERE for more info.

  • Cosmos Caramel Corn – found at Ikeda’s off of I-80 in Auburn, CA. This caramel corn is like candy crack, it’s slow baked with caramel made from scratch and they’ve removed the kernels and hulls. It’s downright addictive!

  • Lowepro – Vertex 300AW – We love our bags and finding the ultimate bag has been a seemingly endless quest…until now. This pack is not for the faint of heart or someone with back issues. BUT if you’re strong and willing, this pack can contain pretty much everything you’ll need. On a recent trip to NZ it housed over 40lbs and $10k worth of gear. With its rain cover, padded guts and 17″ laptop compartment, and tripod holster, the Vertex 300AW will support the travel photographer with a perfect portable studio.
