The Rib Whip

February 22, 2011

We’re spoiled foodies in San Francisco. No, really, we are. You can go out and eat the “best meal of your life” from a different establishment everyday for a year without getting bored. But one spoiled foodie thought we were missing something. Where can you get some solid mid-western style BBQ!? Welcome to The Rib Whip.

Meet Ryan Gessel, born and raised in St. Louis, MO, Ryan knows good barbecue. He has created the first ever BBQ truck with a smoker installed on-board. The Rib Whip serves up some amazingly smokey and deep flavor ribs, kobe beef brisket, and pulled pork. Pair that with some chili/cayenne, butter-basted corn on the cob, and corn bread soufflé and you’ve got yourself one hell of a meal. The Rib Whip’s BBQ sauce is sweet and robust, the perfect accompaniment to top off this mid-western foodgasm.

The Rib Whip can be found most days at 246 Ritch St., San Francisco and every other Thurs. at Off the Grid at UN Plaza. You can follow them on Facebook and Twitter.

I wish we had a Rib Whip here in New York City, but we have other rib places here that are delicious as well. Very nice post.
